Messagio ("we", "us", "our") operates the messagio.xyz platform, including the client portal at app.messagio.xyz and the embeddable chat widget. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

- To provide the AI agent service: processing conversations, generating responses, managing escalations and leads
- To authenticate and secure accounts
- To track usage for billing and plan enforcement
- To send service notifications (session status, usage alerts, escalations)
- To improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns
2. AI Processing
Customer messages are processed by AI to generate agent responses. The AI processes data under strict terms of service and does not use your data to train models.
3. Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored on our self-hosted infrastructure
- Sensitive credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage
- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt
- We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to third parties for marketing or advertising
4. Data Retention
- Conversation history: retained based on your plan (7, 30, or 90 days for web chat; ongoing for WhatsApp)
- Account data: retained for the duration of your account, deleted upon account closure
- Usage logs: retained for billing and analytics purposes
5. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication (session tokens). We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. The chat widget stores a session identifier in the visitor's browser localStorage to maintain conversation continuity.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a machine-readable format
